WH SCOTT
CoreLift Pro: Basement and Sub-Level Lifting Systems
Synchronised four-hoist lifting for basements, shafts and restricted-access sites.
When access is the challenge, CoreLift Pro is the solution
CoreLift Pro is a site-adaptable lifting system from WH Scott, designed to move plant, materials and equipment through shafts or floor openings into and out of sub-level areas. Four synchronised hoists operate a purpose-built platform, providing controlled and repeatable lifting for below-ground construction and installation work.
It is designed for the constrained urban sites that define modern construction: deep basements, tight footprints, live neighbouring buildings and no space for a mobile crane. Typical uses are basement plant room construction, tunnel spoil removal and installing heavy MEP plant below ground.
Unlike a tower or mobile crane, CoreLift Pro is dedicated to the site, so lifting is available on demand without competing for crane time. Available to purchase or on long-term hire, supported by WH Scott’s lifting engineers from design through to decommissioning.

Key Features
Four Synchronised Hoists
Four hoists share the load across the platform, distributing weight evenly and keeping the lift level through its full travel.
Custom-Built Lifting Platforms
Platforms are designed around your loads and the opening, so plant moves as delivered rather than being broken down to suit the equipment.
Multi-Level Basement Access
On multi-storey basements the system can be set to stop at each level, delivering materials where they are needed without a second handling operation.
Integrated Fall Protection
WH Scott designs and installs the fall protection barriers and interlocking gates around the shaft, so the opening is guarded as part of the lifting installation rather than left to another trade.
Tandem and Synchronised Control
Tandem and synchronised intelligent control runs the hoists as one machine or in selected pairs, holding them in step so the platform cannot skew or drift out of level during travel, in line with the requirements of BS EN 15011.
Wireless Remote Operation
An AUTEC LK NEO wireless remote lets the operator choose which hoists are in use and run the lift from the safest available position, with performance visible in real time.
Two Mounting Configurations
CoreLift Pro — Structure-Mounted Configuration
Fitted to fixed lifting points or existing structural steelwork, and available integrated into a monorail where horizontal travel is needed as well as vertical. Suited to sites with permanent steelwork or slab capacity already in place.
CoreLift Pro — Freestanding Gantry Configuration
Supported on freestanding gantries where the structure cannot take the load or has not yet been built. Same lifting performance on open or early-stage sites, and it can be repositioned as the site develops.

Specification and Delivered Capability
Every installation is engineered to the site, so capacity, lift height and platform size are set by the loads and the opening rather than a fixed catalogue rating. The system has been deployed on major London projects including 30 Grosvenor Square, the former US Embassy, Marble Arch Place and 22 Bishopsgate.
On one London tower project the group installed four 10-tonne tandem hoists on a purpose-built monorail, with a 6.5 m x 3 m platform and a heaviest lift of 27 tonnes taken on all four hoists through two 15-tonne spreader beams.
- Structure-mounted, monorail-integrated or freestanding gantry configurations
- Platform size and capacity engineered to the load and the opening
- Programmable stops at each basement level
- Tandem and synchronised intelligent control to BS EN 15011
- Inspection and thorough examination throughout the project lifespan, in line with LOLER
- For goods and plant only. The CoreLift Pro is not a personnel hoist and is not used to lift people.
Where CoreLift Pro Is Used
- Basement plant room and energy centre construction
- Tunnel spoil removal on restricted-access sites
- Installation and removal of heavy MEP plant below ground
- Material handling across multi-storey basements
- Refurbishment and fit-out where craneage is unavailable
- Constrained urban and city-centre construction sites
CoreLift Pro Compliance Requirements
In Great Britain, CoreLift Pro is lifting equipment under LOLER. Because its safety depends on installation conditions, it must be thoroughly examined by a competent person before first use, then at least every 12 months, or to a written scheme of examination. Accessories such as spreader beams and slings are examined at least every 6 months. HSE guidance on thorough examination sets out the duty holder’s options.
LOLER does not apply in the Republic of Ireland. The equivalent duties sit under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 (S.I. No. 299 of 2007, as amended), enforced by the Health and Safety Authority. Fixed lifting equipment must be tested and thoroughly examined with a certificate specifying its safe working load before it is taken into use, reports are recorded on form GA1, and equipment on a construction site must also be examined weekly by the user, with records kept for three months. I.S. 360 is the Irish code of practice for planning lifting operations, including multiple lifting and lowering.
WH Scott handles inspection and thorough examination for the life of the installation in either jurisdiction.
