How breathtaking are these images of a brand-new installation at the Science Museum Group London?! A collaborative art piece from Alexandra Carr and Colin Rennie of Torus Torus Studios, ‘Only Breath’ is a five-meter-wide kinetic sculpture that gently opens and closes above the heads of visitors to the new Energy Revolution Gallery, and WHS were thrilled to be involved in its installation.

Our team designed a bespoke lifting solution for the unique piece of art, utilising the existing building framework with special considerations being made to accommodate the impressive span of the sculpture. Only Breath is an electrically driven structure that expands and contracts as if it is breathing. This project created some interesting challenges, which we were proud to have overcome in order to achieve fantastic results, working with a great team to display this unbelievable sculpture in all its glory.

A huge thank you to Torus Torus Studios for the images and for trusting us with your work of art. A case study of this project is currently in progress, so watch this space!
